Research Areas

  • Design and synthesis of zeolite-like metal-organic frameworks (ZMOFs) based on the assembly of imidazole-type organic linkers.
  • Synthesis of multi-topic functional organic ligands (polycarboxylates, imidazole derivatives and Schiff base molecules) for the construction of metal-organic materials (MOMs).
  • Post-synthetic modification of anionic, microporous, zeolite-like metal-organic frameworks (ZMOFs) for hydrogen storage applications. (DOE-H2 storage project).
  • Heterogenic catalysis employing ZMOFs as solid-supports for encapsulation of metalloporphyrin catalysts.
  • Mechanistic investigation of the self-assembly process in solid-state synthesis of MOMs using various investigation techniques (solution and solid-state NMR, MALDI-TOF/MS, ESI/MS, steady-state UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction studies).
