Professor: Brian Space
Christian Cioce received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of South Florida in May 2009. He immediately transitioned into graduate study where he is currently researching under the mentorship of Dr. Brian Space. Chris' interests encompass Physical, Theoretical, and Computational Chemistry. His current research consists of solving the electronic structure of cobalt porphyrins with various carbene axial ligands via ab initio methods and high performance computing in order to optimize radical character for catalysis.
Christian is originally from New Jersey and has previously studied International Criminal Justice, as well as Forensic Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan, NYC, before transferring to the University of South Florida in January 2007, where he began to pursue a B.S. in Chemistry.
