Professor: Brian Space

Jonathan Belof is a graduate research associate working toward his doctoral thesis under the mentorship of Professor Brian Space. He has authored numerous papers in the areas of nanomaterials, molecular theory and computation. His research is focused on the application of quantum mechanics and statistical thermodynamics to interesting problems in materials science and structural biophysics. He is an avid developer of supercomputing applications and numerical algorithms. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, Jon worked as an information security consultant for numerous Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Jon is part of an active collaboration funded by the Department of Energy (Basic Energy Sciences) to discover new hydrogen storage materials. He holds a B.A. in Biochemistry and Mathematics from USF.
