We offer a variety of research concentrations: bio-inorganic chemistry, bio-organic chemistry, chemical eduaction, clinical chemistry, computational chemistry, enzymes, environmental chemistry, fluorescence, heterocycles, lasers, marine chemistry, mass spectrometry, medicinal chemistry, NMR utilizing FT techniques, nucleotides and nucleic acids, photochemistry, physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, proteins, surface chemistry, thermodynamics, transition-metal chemistry and more.
We are an emerging university in a high-growth area that is undergoing considerable expansion in the scientific, technological, and medical fields. We have strong collaborative research efforts with the College of Engineering, the Medical School, and the College of Public Health, all within walking distance of the Department of Chemistry.
