Requirements to be eligible for Chemistry Peer Leading

General Chemistry 1

Applicants must be current USF students who have done well (received a grade of B or better) in the General Chemistry I (CHM 2045) and General Chemistry II (CHM 2046) courses.

AApplicants should be available on Wednesdays OR Thursdays from 5:00 PM-7:45 PM. Schedule conflicts may be addressed on an individual basis.

In addition to the class time on Wednesday or Thursday, each peer leader will be responsible for facilitating two sections (50 minutes each) of CHM 2045 small group discussions every Friday. This means that you will need to be available on Fridays only during the 50 minute sections to which you are assigned, not the entire span of 8:00 a.m. – 1:20 p.m. on Fridays. You will have the opportunity to provide preferences for the Friday sections you wish to facilitate within the Peer Leading Interest form.

General Chemistry 2

Applicants must be current USF students who have done well (received a grade of B or better) in the General Chemistry I (CHM 2045) and General Chemistry II (CHM 2046) courses.

Applicants must be available Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM and Thursdays 9:30 AM to 12:15 PM. Schedule conflicts may be addressed on an individual basis.


Steps of the Application Process

  1. Complete and submit the online Peer Leading Interest Form by Monday April 3rd, 2017 no later than 5pm.
  2. You will be notified via your USF email if you have been selected as a Peer Leader after all applications have been reviewed.
  3. Applications for Peer Leading will become live Monday March 20th, 2017
