In order to be properly advised for Summer & Fall 2009 schedules, as well as
removing your AA hold, you should attempt to schedule your appointment here:
Appointment eScheduler.
We must meet with you in person to release your AA hold. Please note
we can only advise for our department's majors. If you are changing
your major, please see that department's advisor for assistance with your
schedule and AA hold.
AA = Academic Advising. This hold is placed on First Time in College Students only, who must see their academic advisor each semester of their first year in order to register for the following semester. This is to ensure that first-year students remain on track with their major requirements. Students declared as a Chemistry Department major may schedule an appointment, utilize walk-in advising, or attend the AA hold workshop in order to have their hold released.
Information on Advising Appointments & Walk-in Advising can be found here: Walk-in hours schedule.
AP = Academic Probation. Students with a USF GPA below 2.0 are
placed on Academic Probation and are required to meet with their major advisor
each semester to discuss their schedule prior to registering. Once the
advisor completes the AP Hold Form, which is signed by the advisor & student,
it should be submitted to the College of Arts and Sciences Main office in
BEH 201, in order to release the hold. Keep in mind, every semester you
are on probation, this hold will be on your account to ensure that you meet
with us, so we can help you become academically successful!
AR = Admissions Hold for Missing academic credentials.
This refers to a transcript from a previous college or university that
USF has not received. OASIS should tell you from which institution a
transcript is missing. For more information, or if you believe this
hold is in error, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in SVC 1036.
CC = Cash Collections. Money is owed to USF (anything from
parking & library fines to tuition). If you do not pay your balance
by a set date, you will be dropped from your classes.
IM/MH = Immunization. You have not yet turned in your
immunization forms to Student Health Services. If you do not turn in
these forms, you will be dropped from your classes.
MJ = Major Declaration Hold. You have not declared your major
yet. To remove the hold and declare your major, go to
http://www.cas.usf.edu/declare,
and complete the online form; before you submit the form, you must check the
box that indicates you have a registration hold, so that the College will know
to remove it. Print a copy of your major declaration confirmation page,
and keep it for your records.
OB = remedial math required.
TC, TL, or TS = CLAST Requirement. This will prevent you from
registering until you have made arrangements with Testing and
Evaluation. For information on having your CLAST hold removed:
https://web1.cas.usf.edu/gus/clast. Any questions
regarding CLAST holds can be directed to Kim Williams
(williams@cas.usf.edu), who is the
CLAST Coordinator for the College of Arts & Sciences.
Questions regarding holds and procedure can be directed to chemadvising@cas.usf.edu.
